Answer: Currently DNSimple offers a 30 day free trial after creating your account and your domain is transferred, after that it has the minimal cost of $6 month. (Reference DNSimple for up to date Pricing) 

You can feel free to contact DNSimple to change your pricing plan.

After the 60 day lock by ICANN, you can change your domain to a different host provider, however you will need to reach out to DNSimple support. Here is a link to the DNSimple article that will be helpful:
