Prior to getting started, you will need to have the following:
A domain purchased outside of ClickFunnels- An understanding of whether your domain is already in use for other services, such as hosting a website or managing email.
Supported Registrars And How To Point Your Domain To ClickFunnels
Before adding your domain to ClickFunnels, you need to add a CNAME record in your domain host to use it in your funnel(s). To do that, you can check the list below for the specific instructions of the registrars supported by ClickFunnels.
Please keep in mind that if you point your root domain (Example: yoursite.com) to ClickFunnels, you will ONLY be able to use it in ClickFunnels. If you want to use your domain on multiple websites, you will want to connect a subdomain (Example: visit.mysite.com).
If your domain is already in use for other services, such as hosting a website or managing email through a service like Google Workspace, it’s recommended to use a subdomain for ClickFunnels. Examples of subdomains include go.[domain], shop.[domain], or secure.[domain]. This approach ensures that your existing website and services remain unaffected.
Common Scenarios
If Your Main Website Uses the Root Domain: Use a subdomain for ClickFunnels and point its DNS to ClickFunnels. Keep the root domain with your existing website and use forwarding if necessary.
If Your Domain Is Not in Use: You can connect the primary domain directly to ClickFunnels without any additional configuration.
