Integrate Twilio with ClickFunnels

Learn to integrate Twilio with your ClickFunnels account. If you use Twilio to send automated text messages to customers, this will allow you to integrate with ClickFunnels for sending messages to your contacts.

Prior to getting started, you will need to have the following:

Important Note : You will not be able to use this integration with a Twilio Trial account. Also note you must claim a US number for Twilio to work properly. Please check with Twilio Support for further information on setting up your Twilio account at https://support.twilio.com/hc/en-us

Step 1: Retrieve Your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token

  1. Head to your dashboard in Twilio (It will take you there automatically after you log in)
  2. Below Referral Program, you will find your SID and Auth Token. Your Auth Token will be
automatically hidden. You will need to unhide it to view the information.
  3. Note both your Auth Token and SID .

  5. Add the Account SID from Twilio.
  6. Add the Auth Token from Twilio.
  7. Add the From Phone Number from Twilio (please note, this is the number purchased in Twilio; ClickFunnels will not verify -you should have this setup as per the What You Need section above).
    • You can locate the Friendly Phone Number by Clicking on the Develop >> Manage and then select Active Numbers.
    • Important Note : The phone number listed in Twilio has dashes. When adding this number to ClickFunnels, the correct format to enter the phone number is 8174849950 as an example. Please leave out any dashes or parentheses when adding to ClickFunnels.

Step 3: How to verify Twilio is working properly

Important Note: Due to the nature of how API integrations work, it is recommended that you check your messaging logs inside of Twilio to verify that Twilio is working properly after sending messages and or integrating with ClickFunnels.

  1. To access your Messaging logs, go to your Twilio Dashboard
    • Click Monitor >> Click Logs >> Messaging

Important Note: Keep in mind that Twilio IS NOT a 2-way messaging system.  If one of your users/clients replies to the SMS messages that are sent, they will receive an automated response from Twilio. You will need to reach out to Twilio's support team and request help on where to change the automated message.

Important Note: If you are adding contacts to a list in one of your Follow-Up Funnels, it is recommended that you wait 24 hours after you have properly integrated Twilio with ClickFunnels.  This will allow the API to authenticate the connection.
