Urchin Tracking Module (UTM Parameters)

Learn how to use UTM parameters with ClickFunnels Classic to track traffic sources and measure the performance of your marketing campaigns using Google's Campaign URL Builder.

Track your incoming traffic to your ClickFunnels pages using the Urchin Tracking Module (UTM Parameters). UTM Parameters allow you to get accurate data on people who visit your pages. These provide you with a clear understanding of your marketing efforts, on which traffic sources perform best.

Prior to getting started, you will need the following:

Step 1. Urchin Tracking Module (UTM Parameters) Funnel URL

  1. Navigate to the funnel you wish to track.

  2. Copy your funnel URL.

Step 2. Set up Campaign URL Builder

  1. First, navigate to the Google Campaign URL Builder: https://ga-dev-tools.appspot.com/campaign-url-builder/

  2. UTM Content - Used for a/b testing and content-targeted ads. Use to differentiate advertisements or links that point to the same URL.

  3. UTM Medium - Used to identify a medium, such as an email or cost-per-click.

  4. UTM Name - Used for keyword analytics. Used to identify specific Product Promotions or a strategic campaign.

  5. UTM Source - Used to identify a search engine, newsletter, or another source.

  6. UTM Term - Used for paid searches to note the keywords for the ad.
