ClickFunnels Internal Domain Transfers

If you purchased a domain name through ClickFunnels before May 30th, 2024, and want to take ownership or manage it elsewhere, you must transfer the domain to another domain registrar. However, ClickFunnels can only facilitate domain transfers through DNSimple. This means you'll need a DNSimple account to initiate the transfer process. 

Important:

- As of May 30th, 2024, ClickFunnels no longer offers internal domain registration services.

- Domains purchased after May 30th, 2024, through ClickFunnels are purchased and managed through IONOS. 

How Do You Request a Domain Transfer?

Domain purchase in ClickFunnels before May 30th, 2024:

If you've purchased a domain in ClickFunnels before May 30th, 2024, the procedure for transferring the domain occurs within your ClickFunnels account. You must initiate a domain transfer request from ClickFunnels to a DNSimple account. Follow the outlined process below: 

1. Set Up a DNSimple Account (if you haven't already): 

• Visit DNSimple's website: https://dnsimple.com/
  
• Follow their instructions to create a paid account (they offer a 30-day free trial).
  
• Refer to DNSimple's documentation specifically for ClickFunnels users: https://support.dnsimple.com/articles/getting-started-clickfunnels/ for a smoother setup process.
  

2. Contact ClickFunnels Billing Support: 

• Once you have a DNSimple account, send an email to billing@clickfunnels.com.
  
• In the email, clearly state your request to transfer your internal domain name.

Information Needed by ClickFunnels:

• Name the Domain(s) you wish to transfer.
  
• Confirm you have created a DNSimple.com paid account and provide the email used.
  
• Confirm the ClickFunnels email address of the account holding the domain.
  
• The last 4 digits of the card AND expiration date are used to bill your ClickFunnels account.
  
  

Our Customer Service team will process your request. Once the transfer is verified and complete, you can manage your domain directly through DNSimple.

Domain purchase in ClickFunnels after May 30th, 2024:

Domains purchased through ClickFunnels after May 30th, 2024 are managed by our partner, IONOS. To transfer your domain to another registrar, log in to your IONOS account and initiate the transfer process directly.

Frequently Asked Questions About Internal Domain Transfer

1. Can we transfer to GoDaddy or another host? 

For domains purchased before May 30th, 2024: Due to ClickFunnels's arrangement with DNSimple, you can only transfer your domain to DNSimple first. Once your domain is with DNSimple, you can transfer it to any other platform. 

For domains purchased after May 30th, 2024: Domains purchased through ClickFunnels after May 30th, 2024 are managed by our partner, IONOS. To transfer your domain to another registrar, log in to your IONOS account and initiate the transfer process directly.

2. Can the internally purchased domains be transferred from one ClickFunnels account to another ClickFunnels account? 

For domains purchased before May 30th, 2024: These domains are registered within ClickFunnels. Direct transfers between ClickFunnels accounts are not supported. To transfer your domain to a different ClickFunnels account, you must first transfer it to DNSimple. Then, you can add the domain to the new ClickFunnels account as an external domain. 

For domains purchased after May 30th, 2024: These domains are managed through IONOS. You can remove the domain from your current ClickFunnels account and integrate it into another account by following ClickFunnels’ domain integration steps. 

3. Can I transfer my domain to another host immediately after transferring to DNSimple? 

Due to ICANN regulations, there is a 60-day holding period before you can transfer your domain to another hosting platform. For more information on the 60-day holding period, please refer to the ICANN 60-Day Lock.

4. Do I have to pay $6 monthly to DNSimple to host my domain? 

For domains purchased before May 30th, 2024: DNSimple offers a 30-day free trial. After the trial period, you must subscribe to their service at $6 per month for as long as your domain remains with DNSimple. Once the 60-day holding period ends, you can transfer your domain to any other host. 

For domains purchased after May 30th, 2024: Domains purchased through ClickFunnels after May 30th, 2024 are managed through IONOS, and there's no requirement to use DNSimple.
