Adding A Cloudflare Subdomain

  If you need to add a subdomain through Cloudflare into your ClickFunnels account, then the following steps can help. This article will outline the steps needed to create a subdomain for a domain managed in Cloudflare.



 

  This is helpful if you want to use your branded domain in ClickFunnels without interfering with your root domain. (For example: If you are currently using your root domain with another website and would rather keep it connected to that website.
 

  •   Example of a root domain: yourbusinessname.com  
  • Example of a custom subdomain: blog.yourbusinessname.com

 Prior to getting started, you will need to have the following: 

 Step 1: Creating Your Custom Subdomain 

 1.  Login to your Cloudflare account and click on the domain you wish to use.

 2.    Click on the  DNS  button located on the navigation bar at the top of the page.

 3.  Click the  + Add Record  button located at the top of the list of DNS records.

 4.  Select  CNAME  from the drop-down menu under  Type

  5. Enter the desired subdomain under  Name  .
 
  Examples:    shop, help, support, blog, news
  6. Enter  target.clickfunnels.com  under  Target  

  7.  Turn on  DNS only 
 
  8. Click the  Save  button to the right of the record.  

  Important Note:    If you choose to use a subdomain like this, you do not need to carry out the steps in the following alternative option.

 Step 2: Setting Up A www Subdomain  (Alternative Option)  

  Please note that if you opt to set up a www subdomain following the steps outlined below, it will function as your main website and override your root domain. If you want visitors to navigate to your root domain (i.e. yourdomain.com) instead, please refer to  this article  

 1.  Login to your Cloudflare account and click on the domain you wish to use.

 2.    Click on the DNS button located on the navigation bar at the top of the page.

 3.  Click the + Add Record button located at the top of the list of DNS records.

 4. Select CNAME from the drop-down menu under Type.

  5. Enter www under Name.
 
 6. Enter target.clickfunnels.com under Target.
 7. Click the Save button to the right of the record.
 8. Add a CNAME record for the root domain.   a.   Click the + Add Record button located at the top of the list of DNS records.

 b. Select CNAME from the drop-down menu under Type.

 c. Enter the @ symbol under Name.
 d. Enter www.yourdomain.com under Target.
 e. Click the Save button to the right of the record. 

 Step 3: Adding Your Page Redirect Rule 

If you are setting up a www subdomain, you will also need a page rule in place. The following steps will show you how to set up the page rule you will need.

 1. Click Page Rules located on the navigation bar at the top of the page.

 2.   Click the Create Page Rule button.

 3. Enter your domain using this format: yourdomain.com/*

 4. Select Forwarding URL from the settings dropdown menu.

 5. Select 301 - Permanent Redirect from the Status Code drop-down menu.
 6. Enter the destination URL using this format: https://www.yourdomain.com/$1
 7. Click the Save and Deploy button. 

 Step 4: Adding Your Subdomain To Your ClickFunnels Account 

  After adding your CNAME Record(s) and page rules to point your Cloudflare subdomain to ClickFunnels, you will need to add it to your ClickFunnels account.
